Receivers Are Not The Best Media Streamers For The Best Home Theater Setup

Receivers are not in the loop when it comes to streaming media like Napster, Pandora, Rhapsody, ect. The graphical user interface on the receivers look very crude and are much slower compared to media streamers like the PS3 console. Receivers do not support video streaming yet so you will still have to use a Blu-ray player or a game console to stream video from one of the video streaming services out there. Manufactures of receivers can fix any issues after you have the product via firmware updates over the Ethernet which is a plus.

We love the Denon AVR-1912, but its graphical user interface looks ancient compared with other home theater devices, like Blu-ray players, game consoles, Apple TV, and Roku XDS. Just a few years, AV receiver user interfaces were terrible,

Do you stream media through your receiver? What are you likes and dislikes about them? What are your favorite media streaming devices that you think is the best choice for the best home theater room?
